Mercadona has set the term of office for the directors of its governing body at six years, which was previously five, according to a decision by the shareholders’ meeting and as stated in the BORME of last Monday, March 17.
At the same meeting, Mercadona re-elected Hortensia Herrero , wife of Juan Roig and owner of 27.71% of the shares, as vice president of the company, in addition to renewing the power of Portovan SL —a company of Fernando Roig, which controls 9% of the shares— to have a director.
Thus, the board of directors remains unchanged, with Juan Roig as executive chairman, Hortensia Herrero as vice chairman, and Carolina, Hortensia, Amparo and Juana Roig, daughters of Juan Roig, as directors along with Fernando Roig and Rafael Gómez.
